A hands-on approach to treatment utilizing tools and techniques to deliver soft tissue mobilization and pain reduction.
Lymphedema
Our facility has a wide range of techniques to address and manage post mastectomy, post-surgical, or chronic lymphedema. We utilize CDT – Complete Decongestive Therapy – approach to address Lymphedema. CDT involves the combined use of MLD- Manual Lymphatic Drainage, compression, exercises, skin care, and self-care Management and training. Therapists are trained in MLD techniques, edema fan kinesiotaping, compression garment fitting, and other hands on approaches to stimulate lymphatic return.
Vibrastim
State of the art technology utilizing light pressure vibrations to obtain the benefits of a deep tissue massage. Vibrastim is primarily used in the collegiate and professional athlete setting for speedy recovery from sports injuries.
Functional Dry Needling
Physical therapists use acupuncture style needles to release trigger points in areas of pain to allow for better mobility, function, and promote return to activity. It is a more direct approach to releasing muscle knots by resetting motor points for longer lasting relief.
Cupping
A suctioning effect to promote the flow of stagnant blood, enhance circulation and promote healing in areas of pain. This technique is also very effective with lifting scar tissue in areas of restriction such as post-surgical scars i.e. post-mastectomy with reconstruction, joint replacements, spine operations.
Kinesiotaping
Practitioners are trained to evaluate and determine the correct technique of taping for your specific injury or areas of pain. This method can be used to activate or inhibit a muscle’s function, reduce swelling, lift scar tissue, reduce trigger points and manage pain dependent on therapist’s technique and placement.
Low Level Laser Therapy
Low level laser therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive modality utilizing light therapy to promote tissue healing and pain relief in a broad spectrum of soft tissue injuries and diseases. LLLT is an FDA-approved treatment that uses low levels of light to stimulate healing for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, axillary web syndrome, and lymphedema.
